Description

Support the development of digital and analog integrated circuits for RF transceiver and low-power audio processor applications. Develop embedded processor and non-volatile memory solutions in support of fully-integrated RF transmitters. Participate in the system-level concept development and integrated circuit implementation plan for a low-power, superheterodyne receiver architecture. Develop embedded processor solutions and communication interfaces for low-power audio processors and classifiers.

Evaluate third-party Intellectual Property (IP) to incorporate into APL ASICs. Identify emerging technologies and COTS products that may have applications to special communications efforts. Apply systems engineering techniques to ensure fully capable, high-quality, modular, and extensible designs. Document and present work to sponsors and the technical community.


Requirements

Requisitions: B.S. or M.S. in electrical engineering or physics and 4+ years analog and mixed-signal integrated circuit design experience. Strong technical skills in the design of ASICs, specifically in mixed signal and digital design, verification, and silicon validation. Experience taking multiple designs from architecture definition through silicon validation. DSP design knowledge.

Familiarity with Cadence Custom IC design and verification tools. FPGA prototyping design experience. Demonstrated ability to work independently and in small teams. Excellent oral and written communication skills required. Applicants selected will be subject to a Government security investigation and must meet the eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include US citizenship. Must be eligible for DoD clearance requiring background investigation and/or polygraph examination. Preference for current SSBI. +

Desired:Experience with evaluation, and integration of 3rd party IP. Background in audio processing/processors. Experience designing switched-capacitor and GmC filters, OTAs and compensated operational amplifiers, low noise and low power amplifiers.
