Assist in the technical leadership of efforts related to radar, electronic warfare and communications receivers, signal and waveform generators and digital beam forming. Duties: Develop receiver and signal generation subsystem prototypes and characterize their analog, digital, and mixed-signal performance including noise, and distortion.
Research and analyze impact of subsystem characteristics and performance on overall system performance. Subsystems of interest are antenna, receiver, signal/waveform generator and signal processor. Investigate advanced radar system architectures, especially those including active phased arrays and digital beam forming in transmit and receive. Review and analyze defense contractor work in support of APL¿s role of technical advisor to the US government.

Requirements |
Required: MS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent. PhD thesis work or five years of experience as MS working on RF and microwave electronic components and subsystems. Candidate must have significant analytical and experimental abilities. A strong ability to communicate clearly in both written and oral forms is required and candidates must have a record of written and oral scientific or technical contributions such as publications, conference presentations, patents, reports and books.
Desired: Ph.D. degree with five or more years of experience. Experience with microwave and RF receiver and signal generation circuits and techniques including digital interfacing and data transfer and processing for advanced military systems based on active phased arrays.
